‘People don’t always remember what you’ve said, but they will always remember how you made them feel’, let’s share the second obstacle on the road to an embodied organizational culture

Obstacle 2: I don’t have time to do embodiment or self-regulation exercises

I don’t have time is the most common reason not to start new habits, and especially to maintain them and convert them into autopilot. We don’t have time, only priori-time. It is therefore worth asking yourself the question: why am I procrastinating? Why don’t I make it a priority? What belief or insecurity is really holding me back?

Self-regulation techniques require little time. You don’t have to spend hours on a yoga mat for this. 1 minute a day is enough to teach your brain and body this new habit. And over time you will notice that that minute extends to several minutes.

Have you ever taken 1 minute today to stand still, slow down, breathe, feel and check in with yourself by asking yourself the question: ‘how am I doing now?’
Then stop reading and scrolling and grab this minute NOW. How do you do this? There are many ways, but an example exercise goes as follows:

– assume a comfortable position.
– place both feet on the ground and literally feel your left and right feet making contact with the ground
– roll your shoulders back and down
– place your hands relaxed in your lap or on your legs
– relax your face and close your eyes or lower your gaze
– breathe in through your nose 5 times, out through your nose or mouth
– take a moment to feel what is happening internally in your body, without judgement, without goal, without pressure to perform. Observe.

In the workshops and individual guidance we explain step by step how you can learn to feel, observe and how you can integrate this into your daily work and life without taking up any time. A tip: start small, link your minute to another habit you already have or to a fixed moment or time of your day, e.g. just before eating, before you start your laptop, before you get out of the car,…

Breath, feel and enjoy!
